Alexander Usyk Has Relinquished All Of His Titles
Oleksandr Usyk

The undisputed super heavyweight world boxing champion surprised everyone with his decision.

Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk has relinquished his championship belts held by the International Boxing Federation (IBF), the World Boxing Association (WBA), and the World Boxing Council (WBC) in the heavyweight division. The 39-year-old boxer announced this on Instagram.

“I want to vacate all the belts I currently hold so that the guys waiting in line can fight for them. I’m vacating the belts, but I’m not retiring from the sport. I still have one ‘last dance’ left,” Usyk said in a video posted to his Instagram Stories.

In his most recent fight on May 23, Usyk defeated Dutch kickboxer Rick Verhuven at the Pyramids of Giza and defended his WBC championship title.

Usyk has won all 25 of his professional fights. He has been the undisputed world heavyweight champion twice and the undisputed cruiserweight champion once.
