Russian: When I Tried To Rent An Apartment In Molodechno, They Asked Me: "Whose Crimea?"

The Russian citizen was surprised by this question.

This story was told in an interview to the project Editorial Board by a citizen of the Russian Federation who moved to Belarus, noted "Salidarnasts".

Answering the question whether he faced any other attitude to him on the part of Belarusians, Stanislav said:

- I was trying to rent an apartment in Molodechno. One of the apartments I was looking at, they asked me whose Crimea was mine.

And then I said: "Do you want to rent an apartment to me or put me in jail?"

First of all, there are different answers.

Secondly, why ask such a question at all?

- Well, it's unexpected that such a question sounds in Belarus, I think, - said journalist of "Editorial Office" Ilya Egorov. - If you were somewhere in Georgia, I would understand...

- No, - disagreed the Russian Stanislav. - It's quite a normal question, because many Belarusians have relatives in Ukraine, Russia, Poland and Lithuania, and wherever they have relatives, - I think, 30%-40 percent have relatives abroad.

The man suggested that they had a residue at that moment.

- Well, why should I judge them, if they have some residue? It's theirs, internally," he stated.
