Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the victory of his Civil Pact party in the country's parliamentary elections. "I would like to emphasize that compared to 2021, the Civil Pact party received the votes of more citizens of the Republic of Armenia, the vote of confidence of more citizens. This imposes a great responsibility," Pashinyan said. He noted that the party will be able to "single-handedly" form a government based on the results of the vote.
Pashinyan promised to continue the course of rapprochement with the West, but also to develop relations with Russia and other countries of the Eurasian Union. In addition, he named the establishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of the border with Turkey as a goal, as well as the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan. At the time of Pashinyan's announcement, 10% of the votes had been counted. By the morning of June 8, Armenia's CEC had processed 94% of ballots. The Civil Pact party received 50.07% of the vote, billionaire Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia received 23.35%, and ex-president Robert Kocharyan's Armenia bloc received 9.96%.
