BelAZ, a Belarusian manufacturer of mining equipment, has filed lawsuits in Russian courts against local companies over the use of its trademark. This is evidenced by data from the Russian Federation’s arbitration court registry, as cited by Russian media.
For instance, the management company of the “BelAZ-HOLDING” holding filed a lawsuit against the Russian publishing house “Zeichhaus.” The Belarusian side is seeking compensation for the infringement of exclusive rights to the well-known “BelAZ” trademark. The amount of the claimed damages is 50,000 Russian rubles (approximately 1,900 Belarusian rubles).
The “Zeichhaus” publishing house produces a magazine for modelers and sells model kits of machinery through its online store. The company’s product range includes BelAZ vehicle models. The case will be heard in the Moscow Arbitration Court under a simplified procedure.
BelAZ has filed another lawsuit against the Russian company “Scale” from the Kostroma Region. The company manufactures model kits under the AVD Models brand and previously offered customers various sets using the BelAZ name and brand.
