"Kyivstoner" denies everything.

On July 14, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) stated that a Ukrainian rapper, vlogger, and actor Albert Vasilyev was involved in organizing a drone attack on a defense facility in the Moscow region. He is better known to the public under the pseudonym “Kievstoner”.

According to the agency, Vasilyev is currently in Europe and allegedly directed accomplices who were preparing the attack on the plant. The FSB claims the attack was successfully thwarted. This was reported by "RBC-Ukraine" citing Russian media.

The Russians claim that the attack was planned using 35 FPV drones equipped with foreign explosives and resistant to electronic warfare. The drones were allegedly stored in a rented hangar near the facility.

According to the FSB, the person who carried out the attack has been detained. He allegedly assembled and activated the drones and established communication with foreign operators. The tenant of the warehouse where the drones were stored offered armed resistance during the arrest and was killed.

“It has been established that Vasilyev Albert Viktorovich, a citizen of Ukraine and the United States, born in 1991, a vlogger, rapper, and film actor who uses the pseudonym ‘Kyivstoner,’”—the FSB statement reads. The Russians also accused “Kyivstoner” of drug trafficking.

How “Kyivstoner” and Sternenko Responded

Ukrainian social activist Sergey Sternenko reacted ironically to the accusation with a joke, hinting at the absurdity of the Kremlin’s version.

“‘Kyivstoner’ turned out to be a deeply undercover agent of the Ukrainian special services and was planning to blow up the Moscow region. No joke. Our little elephant. That’s why he was asking me about drones on Instagram,” Sternenko wrote.

“Kievstoner” himself didn’t stay silent either—the rapper posted a profane reaction to the FSB’s accusation on his Instagram Stories. He rejected all the accusations and said he was surprised by such “attention” from the Russian security services.

Even before the full-scale invasion, Albert Vasilyev had been criticized by Ukrainian activists. In September 2021, Sternenko accused him of working for Russian propaganda because of a video in which the rapper chanted “Russia!” in front of a Russian audience.

The artist himself rejected accusations of a pro-Russian stance and stated that he supports Ukraine and feels nothing but resentment toward the Kremlin leader.

For a long time, Vasilyev worked in Russia—together with Russian artist Basta, he hosted the talk show GazLive on YouTube.

In 2021, he was unofficially barred from entering Russia, after which the rapper appeared on the show remotely. Currently, “Kyivstoner” lives in Spain and Slovakia.
