The U.S. Has Lifted Sanctions On A BMZ Subsidiary

The reasons for this decision have not been disclosed.

The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control has removed BEL-KAP-STEEL, a company registered in Miami, from its sanctions list. This is stated in the agency’s press release.

The document does not disclose the reasons for this decision.

Restrictions against this limited liability company were imposed in 2023. At that time, sanctions also affected OJSC “Belarusian Metallurgical Plant”—the management company of the “Belarusian Metallurgical Company” holding, which owns a 50% stake in BEL-KAP-STEEL.

As a reminder, following a meeting with an American delegation held on March 19, 2026, in Minsk, Alexander Lukashenko ordered the release of 250 prisoners. Of these, 235 were allowed to remain in their homeland, while another 15 were transported to Lithuania—some of whom subsequently moved to Poland.
