New Changes Have Been Introduced In Belarus For People Of Retirement Age

The resolution will take effect on July 29.
The government is introducing changes that affect Belarusians of retirement age, as well as people with Group I disabilities. According to the Ministry of Labor provided details on these changes.
“The procedure for granting a care allowance for a person with a Group I disability or a person over 80 years of age has been updated,” the agency reports.
Thus, parents and guardians of retirement age will be able to continue receiving the care allowance after their disabled child turns 18 and is officially recognized as having a Group I disability since childhood.
As a reminder, women in Belarus currently retire at age 58, and men at age 63.
Changes to Certain Benefits
“A care allowance is to be paid for the period during which a citizen requiring constant care is undergoing inpatient treatment, provided that the beneficiary provides care for that person at that healthcare facility,” reports the Ministry of Labor. “The fact that additional care was provided is confirmed by an extract from medical records issued by the healthcare facility.”
Another change concerns situations where temporary care is suspended due to personal circumstances—in such cases, the allowance will not be paid, but in the future, the recipient will not have to reapply for these payments or gather a new set of documents to do so.
“However, the temporary suspension of care must be agreed upon with the person receiving the care (a person with a Group I disability or an elderly person aged 80 or older) or their legal representative,” the Ministry of Labor clarifies. “To exercise this right, you must submit the appropriate application to the Department of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection that pays the care allowance.”
The government resolution will take effect on July 29 of this year.
