Tehran is actively receiving shipments from Moscow via this route.

The United States carried out airstrikes against Iran overnight, hitting the strategic Ak-Take-Khan railway bridge in Golestan Province.

This was reported by The Times of Israel.

This railway bridge is a key trade route connecting Tehran with its strategic partners—China and Russia. The railway itself runs through the territories of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

The role of this land route increased significantly in 2026, after the U.S. blocked Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf.

In addition, since late 2025, Russia has been actively using this route to deliver cargo to Iran.

Despite the nighttime strikes, the transport corridor is not expected to be out of service for long. Repairs to the bridge are scheduled to be completed shortly.
