Moldova Issued A Strong Statement Against Russia Following The Drone Explosion

Moldova’s Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and President Maia Sandu commented on the explosion of a drone near the village of Krokmaz in the country’s Ștefan Vodă district, according to Newsmaker.
The prime minister commented on the drone crash on August 9, thanking rescue workers and firefighters for their prompt response.
“It’s a good thing the drone hit a tree and not a house. The fact that we are outside the war zone, unfortunately, does not protect us. There were no casualties, and the fire was quickly extinguished. Thank you to our police and emergency responders, who quickly contained the blaze. We are all feeling the effects of this war. We know who the aggressor is. I condemn this war. It affects us, too. All I want is for it to end as soon as possible,” Tofan emphasized.
The head of government assured that the authorities will take the necessary measures, but did not specify exactly what they would be.
The president posted her message on social media on August 10. “I strongly condemn the latest violation of our airspace. This is a direct consequence of Russian aggression, and it threatens us all. The risk to people’s lives in our region is real and growing. This must stop,” she urged.
As a reminder, on the afternoon of August 9, the Stefan Voda police received a report of a powerful explosion near the village of Krokmaz. Later, the Ștefan Voda District Council published a photo of an object resembling a drone that had crashed on the outskirts of the village.
Police clarified that this was the first time a UAV of this type had entered the country’s territory. According to law enforcement officials, the drone crashed into a tree and exploded at a height of 2.5 meters, causing debris to scatter over a large area and damage nearby homes.
Law enforcement confirmed that no one was injured during the explosion or fire. The drone exploded in a wooded area outside the village. The explosion caused a major fire, and debris from the drone damaged the roofs and outbuildings of several residential homes.
