Belarusians appear in an unexpected plot twist.
The third season of the popular spy thriller “Special Forces: Lioness,” starring Zoe Saldana—the highest-grossing actress in history—unexpectedly took the plot to Belarus, writes "Zerkalo".
In the second episode of the season, the main character, CIA officer Joe McNamara, is the target of an assassination attempt right at her home in Virginia after returning from a special operation in Ukraine. The attackers are apprehended, and it turns out they are mercenaries from Belarus. In its breakdown of the episode, Vulture links the attack to the Ukrainian mission: Joe’s team unwittingly provoked a retaliatory strike on U.S. soil. We won’t reveal exactly who is behind the attack or where this plotline leads—we’ll avoid spoilers.
Lead actress Zoe Saldana was named the highest-grossing actress in film history in January 2026, following the release of the film *Avatar: Fire and Ashes,” was named the highest-grossing actress in film history, surpassing Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. Saldaña starred in the three highest-grossing films in history—*Avatar*, *Avengers: Endgame*, and *Avatar: The Way of Water*—as well as the *Star Trek* trilogy and all three *Guardians of the Galaxy* films. The combined global box office receipts for all of her films (including lesser-known ones) have exceeded $15.46 billion—a record not only among actresses but among actors as a whole.
