Putin's administration is unhappy with them.
Several sources at once “VChK-OGPU” have reported that in the new television season, the main year-end propaganda program on “Russia 1,” “Vesti Nedeli,” is expected to air without its host Dmitry Kiselyov, who has held the position since 2012. Additionally, according to sources, he may lose his position as general director of the “Russia Today” media agency.
As the publication’s sources claim, the man who was once one of the main mouthpieces of Russian propaganda is causing discontent within Putin’s administration. According to a source, the Kremlin has already decided to remove Kiselev from hosting duties on the “Russia 1” television channel. His position is expected to be temporarily filled by Evgeny Popov, who plans to significantly change the format of the news summary program itself.
Complaints against Kiselev have been mounting within Putin’s administration for some time. These concerns stem not only from the decline in the audience’s genuine interest in “News of the Week,” but also from the host’s difficult personality, his intolerance of differing opinions, and his resistance to recommendations from Presidential Administration officials.
In addition, according to the source, Kiselev may also be removed from his post as general director of “Russia Today” and transferred to an “honorary” retirement position.
Dmitry Kiselev himself, according to sources, is already aware of his impending dismissal and has taken the Kremlin’s decision very hard.
