Drones are attacking the capital of the Russian Federation.
For the second night in a row, Russian authorities have reported a massive drone attack on Moscow. According to official figures, the number of drones shot down has exceeded 20, and some of the country’s airports have restricted operations.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
Moscow authorities are again reporting a wave of drone attacks—official figures rose rapidly overnight: while initially there was talk of about ten “shot down” drones, within an hour their number, according to Sobyanin, had exceeded twenty.
The attack also disrupted air traffic in the region. Several Russian airports, including those in Moscow, temporarily restricted operations due to orders from Rosaviatsiya.
Yaroslavl Airport also suspended operations—the local governor attributed this to security measures that necessitated restricting transportation to Moscow.
That morning, Sobyanin reported several more “shot down” drones that were allegedly flying toward the Russian capital—the official count continues to rise.
Just the night before, on the night of August 18, the Russian capital and the surrounding region came under a massive drone attack—several fires were reported in the region at that time.
