Ukraine launched strikes against strategic targets in Bashkortostan.
On the night of August 19, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked strategic targets in the Republic of Bashkortostan, which is part of the Russian Federation. The strikes hit industrial facilities in Ufa, according to Dialog.UA after monitoring social media.
It became known on the morning of August 19 that Ukraine had carried out strikes on strategic targets in Bashkortostan. Prior to that, local authorities had remained completely silent, and there were no reports on social media.
The head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov acknowledged that on the night of August 19, Ukrainian drones attacked industrial facilities in Ufa. He claims that there were a total of 6 Ukrainian UAVs, and that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down 4 of them.
According to him, one UAV crashed in an industrial zone, resulting in a “small fire.” Khabirov did not specify at which facility exactly the “small fire” broke out.
There are several important Russian strategic facilities in Ufa. The most important of these is Rosneft’s Ufa Oil Refining Complex, which comprises three refineries. Its total oil refining capacity is 23.5 million metric tons per year.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have already carried out several airstrikes on oil refineries in Ufa, for example, on the night of August 1, 2026. At that time, fires were reported at one of the facilities.
