Ukraine Has Acquired A "Shahed" Hunter

The Alexa Spatium jet interceptor has been adopted for service.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have added the new Alexa Spatium jet-powered interceptor drone to their arsenal. The drone was developed by Ukrainian engineers to combat small aerial, ground, and surface targets, primarily enemy attack drones. This was reported reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The primary mission of the Alexa Spatium will be to intercept kamikaze drones, including the “Geran” and “Shahed” models. The drone measures approximately 1.5 by 1.7 meters and is equipped with a turbojet engine that enables high flight speeds. The developers also claim the drone has a significant range, high flight altitude, and good maneuverability.

The drone is capable of operating based on predefined coordinates or receiving direct guidance to a target. Depending on the mission, it can be equipped with various types of warheads, including high-explosive fragmentation, shaped-charge, and thermobaric warheads.

The Alexa Spatium is launched from a ground-based catapult, a process that takes several minutes. If the target is not destroyed, the drone, according to the developers, can be recovered and reused.
