There are reports of a drone attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
On the morning of August 22, thick smoke appeared near the seaport in Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Footage showing thick smoke over the facility’s grounds is circulating on social media, according to “Dialog”.
Little is known about the incident so far. Russian authorities have not reported on the causes of the smoke, a possible fire, or any damage. Some Telegram channels have speculated that the port may have been attacked by Ukrainian drones, but there is no confirmation of this theory at this time.
The Yeisk seaport is one of the key logistics hubs on the Sea of Azov. It has previously been mentioned in reports of drone attacks.
In April, Russian authorities reported that drone debris had fallen near the port, while asserting that no fire had broken out on the facility’s grounds.
