A Russian man, brumeqq, who was passing through Minsk, shared his impressions of Belarusians on Threads.

“I flew into Minsk for a three-day layover,” he writes. “I’m sitting by the building entrance this morning, waiting for a taxi to the airport.

A woman walks by—she was coming out of the building. She walked a short distance away, then turned around and said: ‘Excuse me, but last night when I was walking into the building, you were sitting on the bench. Now that I’m coming out, you’re here again. Are you all right?”

Over the past year, Russians have been actively looking for ways to leave the country. In July, the number of such searches on Yandex reached its highest level since the beginning of 2023. Citizens of the neighboring country consider Belarus to be one of the most popular places to move to.
