Hollywood's Most Famous Nanny Surprised Matt Damon

She admitted that she had hardly watched any of his movies.

Connie Simpson, known as Nanny Connie, has been working with the families of Hollywood celebrities for over 35 years. Her clients have included George Clooney, Emily Blunt, Justin Timberlake, and Matt Damon. However, Simpson herself claims she has never been in awe of the stars, writes People.

She recalled meeting Damon and explained that at the time she knew almost nothing about his career. When, around 2008, she began working with the actor and his wife Luciana Barroso, friends and relatives tried to explain to her just how famous her new client was.

Simpson watched Damon’s movies and remembered *The Talented Mr. Ripley* best. She admitted that during her first conversation with the celebrity, she told him not to ask her anything about his movies because she knew nothing about them.
At the same time, Simpson did note Damon’s performance in *The Talented Mr. Ripley*. “You were fantastic in that movie,” the nanny praised the actor.
“Fame has never been the main criterion for me in my work,” Simpson admitted. She tries to see her clients first and foremost as ordinary people with their own habits, memories, and family histories.

“I’ve never been in awe of celebrities,” she admits.

Simpson believes that her job is not only to care for children, but also to help parents maintain a sense of normalcy away from the pressures of fame.
