Elon Musk Was Awarded The Ukrainian Order Of Freedom

The decree awarding the honor was signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

American entrepreneur Elon Musk has been awarded the Ukrainian Order of Freedom.

This is stated in the decree of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“For outstanding personal contributions to the protection of human life and freedom, and to the development of relations between the peoples of Ukraine and the United States of America, I hereby decree: To award the Order of Freedom to Elon Musk—entrepreneur, engineer, and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, United States of America,” the decree states.

Reasons for awarding the Order of Freedom

The Order of Freedom is Ukraine’s highest state award, presented for outstanding contributions to the affirmation of the state’s sovereignty and independence.

Grounds for awarding the Order:

strengthening Ukraine’s independence;

uniting Ukrainian society;
achievements in the development of democracy, reforms, and the economy;
protecting the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens; and heroism and patriotism for the good of the state.

Who is eligible:

Ukrainian citizens, foreign nationals, and stateless persons—awarded for life or posthumously, by presidential decree.

The award may not be granted more than once.
