Dwayne Johnson, known as “The Rock,” has received one of Disney’s highest honors—the title of “Disney Legend.” Along with Johnson, Anne Hathaway, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and other celebrities were inducted into the new class of legends, according to ABC News.
The 54-year-old actor received the award for his contributions to Disney projects, including his role as Maui in the animated film “Moana” and his work on “Jungle Cruise.” Johnson received the award from his *Jungle Cruise* co-star Emily Blunt.
After the ceremony, the actor spoke about the reaction of his daughters—10-year-old Jasmine and 8-year-old Tiana. Johnson jokingly told them that his new status would allow the family to get free tickets to Disney parks for life. In reality, the title does not grant such a privilege.
Behind the jokes, however, lay a more personal story. Johnson recalled how, many years ago, he first visited Disneyland with his daughter Simone. According to him, that day became one of his most cherished memories of early fatherhood.
The actor also called on people to use their popularity to “help people feel good” and create wonderful memories for families.
