It's a shame he wasn't given the right books as a child.

Today’s example about the food chain is, of course, remarkably vivid. So that we understand—not “what kind of world we live in,” but “what kind of world he lives in.”

It’s a shame that no one gave him a copy of Kropotkin’s *Mutual Aid as a Factor of Evolution* by Kropotkin or “The Conditions of Absolute Good” by Lossky; and it seems Soviet science didn’t welcome the ethologist Lorenz, along with cybernetics (though that’s not certain). After all, a human being is not an animal; he lives by social laws, not biological ones, and mutual aid is not mandatory for him.

It seems that after a week of musicology, the ideas of evolutionism and ethology await us. And that’s probably a good thing.
