BMW Set A New Record In The Electric Vehicle Market

The company has surpassed the two-million-unit sales mark.

BMW has reached a milestone—the company has delivered its two-millionth all-electric vehicle to a customer. It was a BMW i5 M60 xDrive, manufactured at the plant in Dingolfing, Germany, according to Motor1 (translation by Charter97.org).

BMW sold its first million electric vehicles by the end of 2023. It took the company about two and a half years to reach the second million. The next major milestone will be the launch of production of new models based on the Neue Klasse platform.

“The production of two million fully electric vehicles underscores how BMW and Mini models are winning over customers around the world,” said BMW Board Member Jochen Goller.

The electric iX3 is becoming the main driver of growth in Europe. In the first half of 2026, electric vehicles accounted for 28% of BMW’s sales in the region, and deliveries rose by 38% to 81,445 vehicles. The iX3 accounted for about one-third of orders for BMW electric vehicles in Europe.
