A car's origin plays an important role in determining its value.

A Ferrari 550 Maranello that belonged to NBA legend Michael Jordan—and inspired the iconic Air Jordan XIV sneakers—has reappeared on the market nearly a quarter-century later. The 1997 car is estimated to be worth between $700,000 and $1.3 million, according to Autoblog.

In December 2002, Jordan sold the car, after which its whereabouts remained unknown for a long time. For about ten years, Ferrari was unable to locate the car, but eventually found it with a owner in California.

“Provenance plays an important role in determining a car’s value,” the publication writes.
