Putin Signed A Law Expanding The Grounds For Deporting Foreigners

Foreigners will be deported for minor disorderly conduct and calls for sanctions.

Russian Federation dictator Vladimir Putin has signed a law expanding the list of administrative offenses for which foreigners may face deportation. The document has been published on the legal acts portal.

The document will take effect 90 days after its official publication. The law increases the number of articles in the Code of Administrative Offenses that provide for deportation from 22 to 45. In particular, deportation will be applied for:
discrimination based on nationality, religion, or gender (currently punishable only by a fine);
failure to comply with the orders of a military officer guarding the border or a police officer;

petty hooliganism;

violations at rallies;

blocking roads;

drug use;

propaganda of prohibited symbols;

discrediting the Russian Armed Forces;

calls for sanctions.

Separately, the list includes violations of the rules governing the activities of foreign agents and the state of emergency, as well as participation in the activities of undesirable organizations. The law increases fines for violating entry regulations and engaging in illegal employment—the minimum fines will rise from 2,000 to 4,000 rubles. Violators will also be prohibited from citing their marital status or length of residence to avoid deportation.
