Zelenskyy: Trump's Envoys Must Be Proactive

Ukraine is ready for negotiations.

Ukraine has declared its readiness to engage in any format of negotiations that could bring about a just and lasting peace.

In an evening address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the issue of negotiations was discussed at a special meeting.

According to him, Ukraine is in daily contact with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump and expects diplomatic efforts to intensify as early as August.

“We will be ready for all formats of meetings; we expect that Whitcoff and Kushner will be active this August,” Zelensky emphasized.

He also noted that cooperation with other partners, including Gulf countries, is ongoing, though some of this work has not yet been made public.

According to the president, Kyiv expects concrete results from these diplomatic efforts.

Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting dedicated to the negotiation process and further coordination with international partners.

Together with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov; the head of the “Servant of the People” parliamentary faction, David Arakhamia; and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Serhiy Kislitsa, he reported on the situation regarding the negotiations.

According to Umerov, each participant provided an update on their respective areas—ranging from cooperation with partners to the progress of negotiations and further steps to strengthen Ukraine’s position.

He noted that Kyiv maintains daily coordination with the U.S. side. At the same time, work continues with European states, as well as countries in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, to strengthen international support for Ukraine and advance joint solutions in the security sphere.

However, some of this diplomatic work remains behind closed doors.

“We are ready for any format of negotiations that could bring us closer to a just and sustainable peace,” Umerov stated.
