"Everything Is Black": Drones Attacked An Oil Refinery In Ufa, Russia

The Bashneft plant in Ufa is one of the largest in Russia.

On August 5, another drone attack took place in Ufa, Russia. The drones struck a local oil refinery, causing a fire to break out at the facility. Footage of the aftermath of the strike has been published by the monitoring channel Exilenova+.

The video shows a column of black smoke. Russians themselves report that “drones were flying… one was shot down, and one made it through.”

Presumably, the “L-35-11/1000 catalytic reforming unit,” part of the “Zheksa” complex, is on fire.

Another Russian woman complains that “everything is black” and shows the aftermath of the attack and the burning oil refinery. Other videos show a drone, resembling the “Lyuty” unmanned aerial vehicle, flying slowly toward its target. There is no sound of Russian air defense systems in action.

This is not the first UAV attack on Ufa. On August 2, this oil refinery was already attacked.

Bashneft’s Ufa refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia.

The facility can process approximately 6.6 million metric tons of crude oil annually and produces gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, and bitumen.

The refinery plays a vital role in supplying fuel to industry, transportation, and, in particular, the military sector. The extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack are currently being assessed.

As a reminder, on the night of August 5, drones struck the Tula Region in Russia. Another Wildberries warehouse was hit.
