Ukrainian Border Guards Warned Lukashenko

A dictator must understand what entering a war will mean for him.

The Ukrainian military has not observed any buildup of strike forces near the border within Belarusian territory. At the same time, officials in Kyiv believe that Russia continues to pressure Minsk, seeking greater active participation by Belarus in the war against Ukraine. This was stated by Andriy Demchenko , a spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine , during a televised marathon, according to the portal "Slovo i Dilo".

According to Demchenko, the situation on the border with Belarus is being monitored by units of the State Border Guard Service and the General Staff of Ukraine.

“Our units and the General Staff have also observed that there is no buildup of any strike force toward our border on Belarusian territory. But, again, pressure from Russia on Belarus continues, aimed at getting it to join the war against our country more actively,” Demchenko stated.

He also noted that during the full-scale war, Ukraine has significantly reinforced its border with Belarus. Specifically, this involves engineering structures, fortifications, and minefields in areas that the Ukrainian side considers the most dangerous.

“Belarus must understand and see what we are doing—that we do not pose a threat to Belarus—but if Belarus suddenly decides to join the war on its own, it must understand what it will be up against,” — said a representative of the State Border Service.

As a reminder, at the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russian troops used Belarusian territory to launch an offensive against Ukraine. Subsequently, Lukashenko also provided Russia with territory and infrastructure for military purposes.
