A "black swan" is approaching the Kremlin.
Sooner or later, the Russian economy will be unable to withstand the mounting pressure it faces amid the war, sanctions, and blows to the oil industry, according to political commentator Ivan Yakovina.
All of this will lead to inflation, which will become a “black swan” for Putin and his regime. The journalist shared his views on the prospects of a collapse of the Russian economy and the associated consequences on the YouTube.
“To be honest, the lines aren’t as long now as they were at the height of the gasoline crisis, but they’re growing rapidly, and I think that if the attacks on refineries continue, the lines will become very long again. For some time, the Russian gasoline market was propped up by massive fuel imports, but this is only a temporary measure, since Russia is unable to import the necessary amount of gasoline. To do so, the entire Russian shadow fleet would have to be redirected from oil exports to gasoline imports,” Yakovina said, sharing his view on the situation in Russia.
The political analyst also predicted an event that will prove fateful for Russia and Putin: “Without the full resumption of refinery operations, the fuel shortage in Russia will not go away and will thus continue to damage the Russian economy, because the constant rise in gasoline prices caused by the shortage means a constant rise in inflation, and inflation, I am absolutely certain, will one fine day bring down Putin’s regime. Right now, everything is heading toward the inflationary spiral beginning to gain momentum in Russia, and it seems impossible to stop it now.”
