Lithuania Will Send A Note Of Protest To Belarus
Kęstutis Budris

Because of the incident involving the drone.

Lithuania will send a diplomatic note to Belarus after a drone entered Lithuanian airspace overnight and was shot down by Italian fighter jets, said the country’s foreign minister Kęstutis Budrys, according to LRT.

“In all cases where there is an airspace violation, we receive a report from the Air Force stating when, where, and what happened. In every case, we draft a diplomatic note and send it to the country from which, for example, the aircraft or other object originated. In this case, we’re talking about Belarus,” Budrys stated.

According to him, the drone’s exact origin will be determined after the wreckage is examined. Lithuania has already informed its allies about the incident and requested consultations with the European Union and NATO.
