Nicolas Cage Has Changed Beyond Recognition

The actor walked the red carpet with his wife, who is almost half his age.

62-year-old American actor Nicolas Cage was unrecognizable when he appeared on the red carpet alongside his much younger wife, according to "Focus" reports.

The star of the film *The Weapons Dealer* was holding hands with Riko Shibata during a party in Los Angeles.

The actor showcased a radically different look when he attended the grand opening of George Lucas’s Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles alongside his wife, Rico Shibata.

The 62-year-old Nicolas had tousled silver-gray hair and a thick beard. Posing next to his 31-year-old wife, he wore large black sunglasses.

Cage chose a dark blue tuxedo with a subtle circular pattern and contrasting rounded lapels. The look was complemented by a white shirt with an unbuttoned collar, black pants, and polished black loafers.

Rico, meanwhile, harmoniously complemented her husband’s dark suit with an ivory-colored ensemble: a blouse with a high collar, wide-leg pants, and a long coat with sheer sleeves and ties at the cuffs.

Her straight black hair fell to her shoulders, and thick bangs framed her face. She also chose a small black handbag with a gold chain.

How Nicolas Cage Met Riko Shibata

Nicolas previously shared that he and Riko met in Japan, where their shared love of animals brought them closer.

“We met in Japan, and she struck me as incredible. We had a lot in common,” the actor said.

Their relationship subsequently developed long-distance, with each living in different countries. Nicholas proposed to her while they were apart.

“We got engaged over FaceTime,” the actor said.

The couple got married at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on February 16, 2021. They chose this date in honor of the birthday of Nicolas’s late father, Augusto Coppola, and the ceremony itself combined Catholic and Shinto traditions.

“I’m truly happy in my marriage. I know five is a lot, but I think I’ve done everything right this time,” Cage said confidently.
