The Russians Launched A Massive Attack On Kyiv Using Ballistic Missiles And "Zircons"

There are many injured, and a person died near the maternity hospital.

As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of September 24, two people were killed and at least eight were injured. Debris, fires, and damage were reported in several areas of the capital.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the capital came under rocket fire. In the Solomianskyi and Podilskyi districts, debris fell on uninhabited areas, while in the Dniprovskyi district, it fell into the courtyards of a 16-story building and private residential homes, as well as onto an administrative building.

In the Podilsky district, debris fell onto a parking lot near a medical facility. Cars caught fire, and one person was killed. Klitschko later reported that windows and part of the facade of a nearby maternity hospital were damaged. A clinical and diagnostic center was also damaged. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties inside the maternity hospital itself.

In the Dniprovskyi district, debris fell onto the grounds of private homes. One of the houses was partially destroyed; people may have been trapped under the rubble. Debris was also reported to have fallen at two other locations. In the Darnytskyi district, a piece of a missile fell onto the roadway.

The number of casualties cited in Klitschko’s reports gradually increased. At first, he reported one fatality and two injured; later, he reported two fatalities and three injured. At 3:00 a.m., the mayor reported five injured, two of whom were in serious condition, and at 3:08 a.m., he reported six injured. Four of them were hospitalized.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service also reported on the consequences of the attack. In the Solomenskyi district, warehouse buildings were partially destroyed, after which the fire spread to the basements. The fire was extinguished, and three injured people were hospitalized.

In the Podilskyi district, four cars in a parking lot caught fire after debris fell near a maternity hospital. The fire was extinguished, and the body of one person was found at the scene. At another location, a single-story non-residential building was on fire.

In the Dniprovskyi district, a three-story administrative building was damaged. One injured person was found there. At another location, a private home was destroyed; the fire was extinguished, and one person was rescued. Two neighboring homes were also damaged.

Separately, the State Emergency Service reported on the aftermath of strikes in the Svyatoshyn and Pechersk districts. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, an unoccupied building caught fire; one person was injured. In the Pecherskyi district, the roof of an exhibition center was damaged; the fire has been extinguished.

The necessary emergency services are working at the sites of debris falls and destruction.

On the night of September 24, a series of powerful explosions rocked Kyiv. The Russians attacked the capital and the Kyiv region with ballistic missiles, and monitoring channels also reported launches of “Zircon” hypersonic missiles.
