Poland Has Proposed Building A Patriot Missile Plant For Ukraine On Its Territory

The Deputy Minister of Defense revealed the details.

Poland has proposed building a Patriot missile production plant on its territory if the plant is planned to be located in Ukraine. According to RMF24, this was stated by Poland’s Deputy Minister of Defense Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czernecka, citing security concerns.

““We suggested that if such a plant is planned for Ukraine, it should be built in Poland so that it is located in a secure area,” she explained.

She also clarified that Poland is separately seeking to establish a Patriot maintenance center and, subsequently, its own production facilities.

According to her, a possible U.S. decision on licenses for Ukraine does not cancel Poland’s plans and does not rule out the possibility of the project being approved for Poland.

Earlier, the Trump administration made a legal commitment to spend nearly all of the $400 million in military aid to Ukraine approved by Congress, but the package will not include Patriot missiles, despite requests from Kyiv.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Donald Trump has finally decided to grant Ukraine permission to produce missiles for the Patriot system. At the same time, media outlets report that Trump refused to directly confirm this statement, acknowledging only that he had indeed discussed the matter with Zelensky.
