The Kremlin leader is by no means a “great strategist.”

Putin’s calculations are not based on the idea that he is a “great strategist,” but rather on the words of mystics and elders. This was revealed by the former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Valeriy Kondratyuk in an interview with Tetyana Danilenko, which “Ukrainska Pravda” published on YouTube on September 26.

“We had Veronika Feng Shui. It’s exactly the same with these Russian affairs: there are plenty of such people and elders there, too. That same former defense minister [of Russia, Sergei Shoigu] took him [Putin] to all those places,” the general stated.

According to Kondratyuk, people like Putin are weak in and of themselves. He noted that during his service in the KGB, the future Kremlin leader showed neither organizational nor operational abilities.

The general also recalled that Putin mistakenly expected to quickly seize Ukraine and overthrow the government in Kyiv. The Russian president’s current confidence, in his view, stems from the fact that he continues to receive assurances about the prospects of the war.

“His confidence today is based on what he’s being told: ‘Just hang in there, and everything will be fine,’” — Kondratyuk added.
