A Drone Crashed In Romania

A fire broke out after debris fell on farmland.

On the morning of Tuesday, September 29, the Romanian Ministry of Defense received a report that debris from an object had been found in Braila County.

This is stated in a corresponding statement from the defense ministry.

As noted by the Ministry of Defense, the debris—presumably from a drone—fell on farmland on the island of Mare Braila in Braila County.

Authorities were notified of the incident overnight by a citizen who reported that a fire broke out after the debris fell; the fire extinguished itself and did not result in any casualties or property damage.

Units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Romanian Intelligence Service arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area; they will now conduct an examination of the recovered debris.

It is worth noting that on the night of September 29, Romania detected an aerial target near its airspace and scrambled fighter jets to monitor the situation. However, no reports of an incursion into Romanian airspace were made at that time.
