Zelenskyy Announced That New Long-range Strikes Against Russia Are Being Prepared

Ukraine is preparing a response to Russia's attacks on Sumy.
Ukraine has identified priority targets for new long-range strikes deep inside Russian territory. The country’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced this in an evening address.
“Today, we received reports from our military regarding our long-range capabilities—specifically, the priorities for the near future and the operations currently being prepared. All of Ukraine’s key long-range objectives are being carried out, and the Russian oil industry is feeling—and will continue to feel—Ukraine’s impact,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He also noted that on the afternoon of September 29, the Russians carried out “an absolutely despicable strike on Sumy,” dropping four aerial bombs on the city.
“Unfortunately, there was a casualty: one of the bombs struck a residential building, killing a person. Another bomb hit a school—an ordinary school—where children were present at that very moment. The building sustained significant damage, but the children and teachers were in a shelter, and thanks to that, fortunately, there were no casualties at the school,” the Ukrainian president said. Zelenskyy noted that Russia is no longer even attempting to disguise these attacks as strikes on military infrastructure and is openly terrorizing civilians.
As a reminder, Donald Trump had previously asked Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries. According to him, this is leading to a rise in global diesel prices.
Zelensky agreed that the war must end and proposed starting with a mutual cessation of strikes on the energy sector and critical infrastructure.
“Ukraine’s energy sector, critical infrastructure, and our food exports must cease to be targets for Russia, and this will lead to corresponding de-escalation measures on our part,” Zelenskyy stated.
