The Japanese automaker is breaking its own records.
Hybrid cars continue to strengthen Honda’s position. In August, the Japanese company sold 36,776 hybrids—the brand’s best-ever result for that month. Since the beginning of the year, sales of hybrid models have risen by 9.2%, according to Motor1.
The CR-V Hybrid remains the main driver of growth. In August, 20,437 of these vehicles were sold—8% more than a year earlier. The hybrid version accounted for more than half of all CR-V sales, which totaled 37,607 for the month.

Demand for the Accord Hybrid rose even more significantly—by 16.4%. In contrast, sales of the Civic Hybrid fell by 11.8%. Overall, the Civic remains one of Honda’s most popular models: the company sold 21,976 vehicles in August.
Honda’s total sales in August amounted to 122,174 vehicles, and have exceeded one million since the beginning of the year. The company reached this milestone a month earlier than last year.
“Hybrids are helping automakers achieve record sales,” notes Motor1.
