Rally in memory of disappeared oppositional leaders and journalists (Photo)

Portraits of the disappeared oppositional leaders and a journalist emerged in Minsk on December 16, on the Day of Belarusian Solidarity.

Activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” pasted them in the central streets of the city. Beside the portraits, posters contain information about the former Interior Minister Yury Zakharanka, vice Speaker of the Supreme Soviet of the 13th convocation Viktar Hanchar, a businessman and public leader Anatol Krasouski and journalist Dzmitry Zavadski who went missing in 1999-2000.

The world community suspects high-ranking Belarusian officials in implication in enforced abductions and assassinations of these people.
