Belarusian foreign minister to visit NAM conference in Iran

Minister of foreign affaires of Belarus Syarhei Martynau is to take part in the XV Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Meeting in Tehran on 29-30 July as a deputy chairman of the meeting.
Interfax-Zapad has learnt it from the Ministry of Foreign Affaires.
“The sides will discuss the reached results of the process of strengthening of the Non-Aligned Movement, the challenges the movement faces, directions of ensuring higher efficiency and concurrence of actions in the course of the meeting,” the press service of the foreign policy agency noted.
The MFA also noted “the initiatives of Belarus on lifting unilateral sanctions, prevention of producing of new types of weapon of mass destruction, organising debates in the UN General Assembly on access to technologies of using alternative and renewable energy sources, working out UN plan of actions on combating human traffic” will be mentioned in the outcome document of the conference.
Bilateral meetings between S. Martynau and heads of delegations of the NAM countries are scheduled in the frames of the visit.
