The Ukrainian Armed Forces are now able to inflict more serious damage.
Ukraine’s latest strikes on Russian oil refineries have proven to be far more devastating than previous ones. This fact is being actively discussed on pro-Russian media outlets, which are trying to find an explanation.
The Russian propaganda outlet “Scout’s Diary” claims that this is allegedly the result of Ukraine acquiring a counterpart to Starlink, according to Dialog.UA.
“According to our high-ranking sources, a series of recent devastating airstrikes on oil refineries in Kstovo, Samara, and Yaroslavl have revealed a highly dangerous tactical anomaly: instead of strikes on one or two primary processing units (PPUs), the refineries were set ablaze simultaneously at dozens of different locations. The enemy has found a technological alternative to Starlink that has already proven its effectiveness in practice,” the channel writes.
According to the channel, Ukraine is allegedly using Israeli HiSKY terminals in these strikes, which “have turned Ukrainian drones into a ‘smart swarm’ over Russia.”
“The Scout’s Diary” also claims that the Russian electronic warfare system is completely ineffective against this technology.
“Whereas previously the Ukrainian Armed Forces would launch a hundred ‘blind’ drones at a single electronic warfare system in the hope that at least two would reach their target, now operators in Kyiv can see hits in real time. If the first pair of UAVs successfully hits the target, the swarm following behind is redirected in mid-air toward oil tanks, cracking units, or power substations. At the same time, operators monitor the locations of our air defense systems and mobile fire groups in real time, instantly redirecting the remaining drones to safe detour routes,” writes Z-Channel.
He noted that attempts by Elon Musk to restrict Starlink’s operations in Ukraine have only worsened the situation for Russia.
“Behind-the-scenes restrictions on Starlink’s operations imposed by the U.S. have led to the exact opposite result: Trump has simply lost his leverage over Kyiv’s long-range strikes. Ukraine has broken free from the American leash and found a commercial alternative that the White House cannot shut down with a phone call. This is a colossal challenge for our energy sector,” wrote “The Intelligence Officer’s Diary.”
