Uladzimir Niakliaeu: Abolish Idiotic ‘Social Parasites’ Decree!

Therefore, everybody, come to the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk at 6 p.m. on February 17!

One of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress poet Uladzimir Niakliaeu has addressed to his countrymen on the eve of the Outraged Belarusians’ March:

- All the normal people, even in the government, agree that it’s an absurd idea to take taxes from the unemployed, as prescribed by the Decree #3. However, in order to cancel the Decree, all should admit that it really is idiotic. This means, we have to admit that it was not only contrived, but signed by an idiot. And this appears a problem for the authorities… That is why the officials keep repeating after their boss: “Let us live with this Decree for a while.”

Well, you can live with a hernia. But it is better to cut it out. As, sooner or later, it is going to pinch.

This decree appears a litmus test. The indicator of the society’s normality. If we choose to live with it, under it, then they will turn us around their finger further on. After all, the citizens, who silently agree with the undisguised robbery committed by the state, are not exactly citizens. They are the patients of a ward #6 in some mental hospital.

That is why, everybody, go to the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk at 6 p.m. on February 17! Go to join the OUTRAGED BELARUSIANS’ MARCH, THE ACTION OF PROTEST AGAINST THE DECREE #3!

Not only against the Decree, but against the dictatorship as well. The organizers of the March suggest adopting the following resolution of the participants thereof:

The Resolution of the “Outraged Belarusians’ March” participants (draft)

We, the participants of the Outraged Belarusians’ March, strongly demand from the authorities:

1. To abolish the disgraceful Decree #3 dated April 2, 2015 “On Prevention of Social Dependency”;

2. To stop the decline of the real income, robbing pensioners, increasing the retirement age, raising tariffs for communal services;

3. To return free, fair elections to the people;

We are tasking our elected representatives to convey these demands to the authorities, to start negotiations with them, to establish control over the fulfillment of our demands.

If the government does not take any real steps to implement the people's will within one month, until 17 March 2017, we will take the new collective action, and we are tasking our representatives to prepare thereof.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

TODAY, FEBRUARY 17, 6 P.M., MINSK, THE KASTRYCHNITSKAYA SQUARE
