Lukashenka's aide Siarhei Rauneika received a bribe for a favorable solution to the issue of organizing a cigarette business. Deputy Prosecutor General Aliaksei Stuk reported this, tut.by writes.
In late May, Lukashenka's aide Siarhei Rauneika, the inspector for the Hrodna region, was detained. He was taken red-handed for extortion and taking a bribe of 200 thousand dollars.
Deputy Prosecutor General Aliaksei Stuk voiced some details of the case.
– As for Rauneika, there is a fact of his receiving a bribe, a criminal case has been opened and an investigation is under way... He received a bribe from the head of a large joint-stock company for making a decision in his favor regarding the organization of cigarette business.
Let's remind, Aliaksandr Lukashenka spoke about Siarhei Rauneika shortly after the detention of his assistant:
– He got in sight more than a year and a half ago. To be frank, first of all, income declarations worked here. When there was a personnel inspection, I asked where such a luxury came from: up to a dozen cars, up to a dozen apartments. A common official and his family cannot live like this.
The dictator added that Rauneika "behaved like a real thug."
