Andrei Suzdaltsev: Regime Isolated and Goes Nuts

Lukashenka is in a deadlock.

Russian political analyst Andrey Suzdaltsev commented on the relationship between the Kremlin and Lukashenka on his Telegram channel:

- Judging by the information hysteria in the Belarusian media towards Russia, the system of Russia-Belarus entry into "economic integration" created this summer and approved on September 9 is failing. Even before, i.e. since February 2021, when Lukashenka suddenly "recalled" the "road maps", later renamed "union programmes", there was no doubt that the Belarusian dictator would try, on the one hand, to commit another "union twist", when instead of stepping towards integration, Minsk would demand integration advances, as it has been doing for the last twenty-five years. On the other hand, Lukashenka will try to launch a policy of balancing between the West and Russia, which became impossible after this May 23 (the landing of a European airliner at Minsk airport with the help of a fighter jet). However, nothing works...

No matter how hard Lukashenka has been bluffing his way in recent months, the idea to make Moscow again become a mindless sponsor of RB "for free" has failed. According to our information, it caused a very negative attitude of the Belarusian leader to Russia and the Russian leadership.

The foreign political isolation of Belarus has remained. Although, there is currently one EU-Belarus expert platform. Makey's team is in charge of the Belarusian part. Some odious experts in Belarus take part in it. However, the matter has stuck to the discussion.

The deadlock Lukashenka finds himself in makes him nervous.

The system went into meltdown over an issue that is only indirectly related to Russia and Russian-Belarusian relations - the shooting on September 28, 2021, on Yakubovskogo Street in Minsk. Lukashenka was outraged at the reaction of Russian special services to the unprofessionalism of the Belarusian brigade with the hammer. It was followed by a wave of insults against Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus and the head of the publishing holding Sungorkin. The Belarusian "experts" demanded him to "crawl down on his knees" to Lukashenka and beg for forgiveness. It is worth noting that the editor-in-chief of KP is one of the most influential representatives of the Russian political class and is a member of the Russian elite.

After the very grave insults to Sungorkin, it was no longer surprising to see an increasingly deceitful attack on representatives of the Russian expert community. Instead of trying to disprove the ideas and positions espoused by these Russian citizens, rather it was an attempt to hit people in the Stalin-like format accusing them of the most heinous schemes. In other words, it was necessary to defame specific people in the eyes of the Russian leadership (love of snitching has its effect). This anti-Russian wave at the "expert level" is interesting. The formula "One who is against Lukashenka is against Putin" was used. In other words, the Belarusian junta and subordinates (Lukashenka's term from 09.08.2021) Belarusian "experts" are trying to hide behind the back of not Lukashenka but the president of Russia...

As it turned out, Putin let them down. The speech of the Belarusian journalist Evgeny Pustovoy was good proof of it.

During the TV show Politics without Ties and Bills, Pustovoy compared Lukashenka and Putin. It was wrong. Countries and political systems are too different to say nothing of the responsibility for the world's fate. However, instead of a fair although partially far-fetched reconciliation check, the Belarusian journalist threw insults not even against the Russian policy line towards Belarus but against the Russian president. He accused Putin of "hiding in a bunker" and the use of botox and so on.

First of all, there is no doubt that Pustovoy knew what he was saying. He is not a complete idiot. Moreover, there is no doubt that he was carrying out an errand.

Secondly, the cowardice of the Belarusian establishment won't stop surprising. After all, Pustovoy voiced what the top Belarusian authorities thought of the President of Russia. But the authorities immediately became fearful of the consequences, and "friends" of Pustovoy rushed to persuade that Pustovoy was the first supporter of the union with Russia and loved Putin. In short, they barked from the corner and immediately rushed off. Cowards...
