Putin Has Expanded The Army Amid Rumors Of Mobilization

This is already the fourth time this year.

Russian dictator Putin signed a decree establishing a new authorized strength for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, according to Russian media reports.

- To set the authorized strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at 2,441,630 personnel, including 1,550,500 military personnel. The Government of the Russian Federation shall provide for the allocation to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation of budgetary appropriations from the federal budget necessary to implement paragraph 1 of this decree, the document states.

It is noteworthy that this is the fourth time this year that the Kremlin leader has increased the size of the Russian army.

In July of this year, the Russian dictator had already increased the size of the Russian army to 2,426,000 personnel. According to the document, the number of military personnel in July rose from 1,510,000 to 1,535,000.

Prior to that, the force had been increased to 2,399,000 in June and to 1,502,000 in March.

It is worth noting that prior to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the authorized strength of the Russian Armed Forces was just over one million. Since the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine, the size of the army has increased sevenfold.
