Why is Gryzlov going to Belarus?

Recently it became known that the new ambassador of Russia to Belarus will be the chairman of the Supreme Council of United Russia, former Minister of Internal Affairs and member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov. Russian media describe him as a political “heavyweight” who has good apparatus connections and enjoys Putin’s trust.
