Bellingcat: Russia Lost 90% of Its Best Paratroopers

The Russian army also suffered huge losses among its mercenaries.

Russia lost 90% of its best paratroopers. Russian troops suffered heavy losses in the first phase of the war.

This was reported by Bellingcat journalist Christo Grozev on the air of Ukraine 24.

"In the first part of the war, Russia lost 90 per cent of its best paratroopers. This is the top and most important part of the army. It is simply impossible to seize key infrastructure facilities and the capital without it," Grozev said.

Russia also suffered heavy losses among its mercenaries.

"A large part of the second echelon of quality troops has been lost - these are mercenaries. These people, unlike the rest of the Russian troops, were not only trained in "exercises," but in a real war... Approximately 4,000 have been killed. This is a huge percentage," the expert added.
