The Ukrainian Defense Forces can encircle Russian troops in the Donetsk, Luhansk regions, and Kherson region. The other day, the invaders left Kreminna and Svatove in the Luhansk region, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine were not ready for such a situation, so they failed to take possession of the abandoned territories. This was stated by former Deputy Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Heorgiy Tuka.
In an interview with Glavred, in response to a question about whether Ukrainian troops could encircle the Russian army in Lyman and open the way to Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, he said that such a scenario was possible.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are able to surround the occupiers in at least three areas, this is possible in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson regions.
“The Russian invaders, theoretically, could be in an operational environment in several areas. Both in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and in the Kherson region. In general, these are at least three points,” Tuka said.
He also added that earlier the Russians had left Kreminna and Svatove in the Luhansk region, but the Ukrainian army was not ready for such a scenario, and the invaders returned to their previous positions.
“A few days ago, an interesting situation occurred — the invaders were expecting the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and left Kreminna and Svatove in the Luhansk region. I was told about this by local residents, and later the information was confirmed in the Main Intelligence Directorate. But the Ukrainian troops were not ready for the scenario of an urgent and immediate offensive in order to seize the abandoned territories. And a day later, the Russians returned to Svatove,” said Heorgiy Tuka.
