The products did not meet the safety and labeling standards.
According to the State Standard Committee, it is decided to prohibit the import into Belarus and sale of refined deodorized sunflower oil under the name "Zhemchuzhina Kubani" in retail outlets. The producer of this product is the Russian company Agro-Trade, while the supplier to Belarus is Rolf-Trade.
A similar measure applied to refined deodorized frozen sunflower oil labeled " Tvoya Kuban". It was produced by Novotitarovsky Production Complex LLC in Krasnodar Krai, and the importers to the territory of Belarus were E.S. Vechorko from Pinsk and AdamantImport LLC.
The laboratory tests revealed that both types of vegetable oil did not meet the safety and labeling requirements of the technical regulations.
"In fact, the test results showed that the anisidine number, while the regulated value for sunflower refined deodorized oils of the highest grade - not more than 3.0, was: 8.2 - for oil labeled "Zhemchuzhina Kubani"; 6.5 - for oil labeled "Tvoya Kuban", the State Committee reported.
They came to the conclusion that these food products can not be identified as the one that is issued, as indicated by the manufacturer in the labeling misleads the consumer. In fact, the products are not the refined deodorized sunflower oil of the highest grade.
As Charter97.org wrote earlier, earlier this year, the Committee banned the sale of Russian sweets, ice cream and dried fish whose producers "forgot" to indicate synthetic dyes and other additives on the labeling.
