The May 9 victory parade in Moscow in 2026 was one of the most modest in every way in recent decades, dialog.UA reported.

On Red Square on Saturday, only 12 foot columns marched. That's almost three times less than in 2024, when more than three dozen columns took part in the procession.

This year's parade included cadets from military academies, an honor guard, a column of participants in the war against Ukraine, and a separate column of North Korean soldiers. At the same time, for the first time in many years in the procession did not participate representatives of the "Unarmy", EMERCOM and Cossack organizations.

Military equipment on Red Square was not shown at all, and this - for the first time in 19 years. Instead of tanks, armored vehicles and missile systems, the spectators were shown a video clip of drones, air defense systems, Kinzhal missiles, Yars systems and other equipment.

The parade itself lasted about 45 minutes. This is one of the shortest parades in the modern history of the Russian Federation.

In addition, for the first time deputies of the State Duma and members of the government were not allowed on the podiums - only representatives of the Security Council and the security bloc were next to Putin.
