Iran Sends Message That It May Intervene In War Against Israel

Tehran's representative to the UN made a public announcement.

Iran has sent a private message through the UN to Israel that it may intervene if the IDF continues its military campaign in the Gaza Strip, The Jerusalem Post reported on Sunday, October 15.

Iran sent a private message to Israel through the UN that it could intervene if Israel continued its military campaign in Gaza, The Jerusalem Post confirms a report first published by the Walla news publisher.

In addition to this private message, Iran also made a public statement published through the X (formerly known as Twitter) account of its permanent mission to the UN.

If operations in Gaza are not stopped immediately, the statement reads, the situation "the situation could spiral out of control [and] ricochet far-reaching consequences".

On October 10, US President Joe Biden warned third parties against trying to take advantage of the war in Israel.

On the same day, the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier arrived in the Eastern Mediterranean to prevent the escalation and expansion of Hamas's war against Israel.

The next day, Biden directly warned Iran to "be careful" in its actions in the Middle East following the Hamas attack on Israel.
