Iran Openly Threatens Israel

Tehran speaks about the “crossed red line.”

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said Israel had "crossed a red line that could force everyone to take action."

“Washington asks us not to do anything, but they continue to provide broad support to Israel. The United States sent signals to the Axis of Resistance, but received a clear answer on the battlefield,” the Iranian president wrote on X.

The Axis of Resistance is an unofficial alliance between Iran and pro-Iranian groups in the Middle East (Hamas, Hezbollah, Yemen’s Houthi Movement and others).

Tehran previously warned Israel that it could join in the conflict if the IDF crossed certain red lines during the fight against Hamas. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian noted on October 16 that the likelihood of a new front opening is increasing every hour and threatened “huge losses” for the United States.

On October 22, Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat said that if Hezbollah or another Tehran proxy force decides to open a second front, Israel will attack Iran.

On October 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the IDF was conducting a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, which was the second stage of the war with "very precise targets."
