Russians Lose Five Akhmat Armoured Vehicles On Crimean Bridge

Russian invaders lost five Z-STS Akhmat armoured vehicles on the Crimean bridge on Sunday, March 26.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate.

"Five armoured vehicles of Russian terrorist Z-STS Akhmat did not make it to the combat zone. On March 26, a convoy of five Z-STS vehicles of the 34th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade was driving across the Crimean bridge in the direction of occupied Crimea," the report said.

The Main Intelligence Directorate said that according to official data, "speeding and failure to comply with the safe distance when driving in the convoy" interfered with their ability to make it to the end.

"As a result, four of the five vehicles require considerable repairs. "The Akhmats were on their way to the Kherson region and were supposed to complete the occupant units operating in the Pridneprovsk direction," the intelligence service added.

This armoured vehicle was specially commissioned by one of the Chechen security agencies after the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine.

On May 9 the armoured vehicles were demonstrated at a parade in Grozny and then sent to the war in Ukraine. In June, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the purchase of batches of Z-STS Akhmat, talking about 20 vehicles.

The armoured vehicle was created as a cheap version of the Typhoon. Therefore, the Akhmat has the same level of protection, but is much cheaper and easier to operate.
